I will be strongly committed to improving the status, work conditions and income of the dedicated, hardworking members of our professions.
I am a qualified neo-natal nurse, midwife and lactation consultant. I currently work clinically in Rose Ward at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and have worked full time in our professions for 50 years. My extensive experience has afforded me an exceptional insight into the demands, needs and changes which have occurred over time.
I have been an ANMFSA worksite representative (WSR) for over 30 years. I am extremely concerned about the present working conditions we experience. It seems Governments and Health departments learned very little from the pandemic when, finally, the value of our professions was at the forefront and widely recognised.
Severe understaffing, increased work burdens and irate patients are rife while excessive (and often unnecessary) levels of computing and administrative work are severely intruding on our clinical duties.
If elected, I will be strongly committed to improving the status, work conditions and income of the dedicated, hardworking members of our professions. I sincerely wish to contribute to the strong role the ANMFSA plays in the welfare of the nursing and midwifery professions and to the healthcare system generally.

I have always made sure members know their rights and advocated on their behalf with management to ensure that their entitlements are respected and maintained.

I currently work in the perioperative environment in Recovery and Anaesthetics at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital (WCH) and have worked in Clinical Governance in Safety and Quality. I now work half time clinical, half equipment manager/ANUM for my department.
